How many years have you been in business in NYC?
30 plus
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
I had been teaching childbirth classes privately and several pediatricians approached me because they liked my style and asked if I would teach baby CPR classes in their office.
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
My unrelenting attention to detail, my commitment to personally interacting with every client, my practical advice and my willingness to meet scheduling demands of busy New Yorkers. My years of experience in the field make me an excellent resource for expectant parents.
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
It’s the personal commitment and attention to detail. I love what I do and am passionate about teaching expectant and new parents about childbirth, parenting and life saving techniques.
How do you positively impact your clientele?
In addition to teaching the essentials, I share my personal experiences and insights from having raised a child in New York City while also maintaining a professional practice.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Meeting new people and sharing their excitement about their pregnancy or new baby.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
The loop around the reservoir in Central Park
How do you benefit mamas?
I teach them life saving techniques and how to bring their babies into the world. I give them practical advice about everything from changing diapers to getting their kids into preschool.
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
Just last week I did a refresher CPR class for a family and their babysitters. They have a special needs child. A few weeks prior to the class, the child had choked and the nanny had attended the previous class that I taught, When I walked into the apartment, the nanny hugged me and told me that because of what I taught her, she saved the girl’s life. She was so grateful that she knew what to do in the emergency. It was very powerful for me.
