Please tell us 3 words that best describe you
Honest, Loving, Loyal
How do you juggle family life with work at Town & Country?
While working as a contributing editor I am lucky enough to have flexibility with the hours that I work. This allows me to work while the children are napping, preschool or at odd hours.
You are a Mother of three, which is a full time job, how do you carve out time for yourself during the day? How do you spend your free time?
I really enjoy reading so I try to do that daily. I also try to sneak away and relax in a bath a few times a week, sometimes I get caught by my two oldest and they end up climbing in with me though, but its so sweet how can you say no to that?
What are your favorite family activities in NYC?
I love the zoos, the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and the Museum of Natural History. Of course Central Park is just amazing too, and we find ourselves there almost every day.
What is the greatest challenge of raising 3 children in NYC?
Well they are so young now being almost 4, almost 3 and 6 months so I am sure challenges will arise, but right now we haven’t encountered any. And we are lucky enough to have a country house where we escape whenever we can. The girls get to pick apples and make pies in the fall, go to the farms and see the baby animals in the spring, and just enjoy the outdoors all year round.
Do you have any favorite children's art classes in New York?
I like My Chelsea art class by Appleseeds.
What are your top 5 museums and galleries in New York?
Museum of Natural History, the Whitney, The Guggenheim, The Frick, The Metropolitan Museum of Art
What inspires you most about UNICEF's work?
They truly do whatever it takes to reach all children, even the hardest to reach. They work tirelessly to even the playing field, and have saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization. They go places where other organizations can’t or won’t go.
How has being a mother impacted your support for UNICEF?
UNICEF focuses on children. The love you have for a child is almost too large and deep to be properly described. I couldn’t imagine being in a situation where the resources to help my child exist, but I just didn’t have access to them. UNICEF has saved 90 million children’s lives since 1990, and if I can help UNICEF continue to support even just one more children, I will do whatever I can to do so.
