How many years have you been in business?
We opened in 1988.
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
I’ve been involved in the art world all my life.
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
This is the only historic house museum devoted to two twentieth century abstract expressionist painters.
How do you positively impact your clientele?
If our visitors leave the museum with a greater appreciation of the artists and a deeper understanding of their work we have done our job.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Discussing the artists and their art with our visitors.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
Chumley’s. The original one. But it’s gone.
How do you benefit mamas?
The family art workshops benefit the whole family by providing an interactive, creative experience that all ages can share.
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
That the visit gave them insight into the creative process.
Pay it forward and name your top colleagues in the same field or related field:
The dedicated directors and staffs of my fellow Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios network members.
What is the best advice anyone's ever given you? Or what is your "mantra" / words to live by?
Do what you enjoy and enjoy what you do.
As moms, the day can escape us, what is your best time-saving trick?
My time-saving trick is to do whatever I’m doing right. Then I don’t have to do it over. (Doesn’t always work!)
