How many years have you been in business in NYC?
Lily Pond was founded in September 2013.
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
After assisting a laundry-list of high-net worth individuals, I recognized the demand for a domestic staffing agency that fully grasped the nature of such delicate, active lifestyles. And so, Lily Pond grew quickly, solely gaining clients by word-of-mouth and the outstanding recommendations of happily satisfied clients.
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
I credit my success to my hands-on approach and in-depth understanding of the domestic staffing industry from all sides. My clients always have an assessment with me personally, not a recruiter from the office location of choice as other agencies do.
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
My personal relationship with my clients, my hands-on approach, and being referral-based allows clients to come to me having already been referred from another satisfied client or candidate; my reputation is everything.
How do you positively impact your clientele?
I offer them the most valuable gift “T-I-M-E.” I focus on the staffing search and allow them to invest their time on what really matters. A Mother’s time is valuable and your family's security is critical. Trust the experts and spend more time with your loved ones and doing what you enjoy.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Making a long-term match that benefits both parties. Hearing from a client and candidate months to years after a placement on how happy they are and how much having a position I offered them or a candidate I placed with them betters their lives.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
My favorite spot in NYC is called the mall in Central Park. It's the street that is lined with trees that blossom and it looks like Paris. It leads to a fountain and /or the bowling alley under the Henry C. Frick Collection Museum.
How do you benefit mamas?
I offer them access to my direct connections and knowledge of the industry, and provide great insights about trends in the field.
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
“Be unusual, ask yourself how I can do it differently. Do what others say cannot be done.”
Pay it forward and name your top colleagues in the same field or related field:
UOVO. Fine art storage and services. They are always a pleasure to work with and I never regret referring a client. Always topnotch service.
What is the best advice anyone's ever given you? Or what is your "mantra" / words to live by?
“There’s a reason swimming pools have swim lanes and swim markers. Stay within your lane.”
As moms, the day can escape us, what is your best time-saving trick?
I’m a list person. Jot down each morning your to-do list - get the important stuff done early. Take care of yourself always - don’t make any commitments of time that do not fit 110% within your schedule or aren’t practical.
