How has your child affected your budding fashion career and involvement in the vineyard?
I have become so much better at time management. I have much less time so I want to make sure the time I am away from Nell is used efficiently. I also feel even more inspired because I work harder to being an example for her as well as give her a similar childhood I was so fortunate to have.
How has your baby inspired your creativity and how is this reflected in the pieces you select for your shop?
I feel more daring and even more inspired to bring unique pieces into my store. Nothing is more intimidating and life changing as childbirth so everything else in life just feels easier now!
What has been your most useful purchase for yourself or your baby?
The BOB running stroller. We love going running and exploring together as a family!
What do you find most effective in sleep training your baby?
I think its so hard to listen to your baby cry but I remind myself that as long as she is not sick, she is fine and this will just help her in the future. Temper tantrums aren't productive!
How do you carve out “me” time? And how do you like to spend this time?
My me time is on my horse. It's the only time I ever feel i can focus on myself. It is so rewarding and necessary even if its just an hour!
What are your favorite farms to shop for baby's food? Any favorite baby food recipes?
I love Serene Green off of Noyac Road in Sag Harbor. They are so helpful with recipes and are always there to guide you to what is in season. I am still in the experimenting with food stage with Nell. She is just 1 so its hard to force her to eat certain things, but I am trying my hardest to make her an adventurous eater. She Loves cilantro which is great because we have a plethora in our garden!
Favorite activities to do out east with your little girl?
We love CMEE and feel so lucky to have it so close to us. We also just started music classes at the Winestand with the group SHINE from NYC for kids two and under. I also love taking Nell to our barn Wolffer Estate Stables. She was given a mini horse called Dolly and we go visit her all the time.
What is your favorite kid-friendly vacation destination?
Well, this is NOT a close destination but we recently took Nell to Bali and had a blast with her. It was such an adventure to share as a family.
