How have your children impacted your designs and inspired you?
I launched the Baby Girl swim line and my new little boys swim line (yet to be named) for my children, so yes, you could say that! My whole design philosophy is inspired by my life and lifestyle. I always design for a woman who wears many hats and still wants to look beautiful and feel confident!
What is the age difference among your children and how has Sienna helped in raising your twins?
Sienna is 11 and the twins are three. There is a full 7 and a half year age difference between them. It was certainly not my plan, but it’s actually quite lovely. Sienna has always felt the babies are hers. There is very little competitiveness between them. I’m still able to spend a lot of time with all of them, since they are on such different schedules.
Which classes do you consider the most beneficial in NYC for all of your children, both educationally and recreationally?
I think the little maestros class is a great one. It’s a nice open space, and not overly constricted. I was never a huge fan of all the childhood classes. I would rather take the kids to central park and scavenger, or kick a ball with them...
Where do your children attend camp?
My children attend Hampton Country Day and Ross.
What are your favorite kids clothing shops?
I have to say, I honestly do most of my shopping for the kids online. I am crazy about the children website www.little-circus.com. Crewcuts is pretty cute for all three of my children.
What is your most memorable family vacation?
We recently went to the Viceroy in Anguilla. It was fantastic. Great for my three year olds and my 11 year old, and mommy had fun too!
What is the best advice you have ever received in terms of managing your family life and business?
I think just watching my parents, especially my father, who also ran his own business. My parents made life fun and happy, and I knew, no matter what, my parents were always there to catch me if I needed them. That gave me the confidence to take great leaps and risks. I hope I do the same for my babies.
